We research historical claims using museum collections, preservation organizations, archives, patents, period catalogs, and other credible sources. We avoid presenting an unverified anecdote as fact and correct substantive errors when they are identified.
Images and reconstructions
Photographs are credited where required. Historical reconstructions and AI-assisted illustrations are labeled so readers do not mistake them for documentary evidence from a specific property.
